Anything can be an Addiction

Anything can be an Addiction
Coming online's an addiction, or in nicer terms, a habit. After spending three days away from city life's readily available internet connection, it's getting to be a bit of a chore coming online. I'd very much rather laze around in bed with a book. :)

I'd just finished True Confessions by Rachel Gibson, and I'm glad I chanced upon it in the library, for it seems like eons since a chick lit novel has been able to draw me in. Lovely, to relive a few days of breathing, eating and dreaming a book.

A programme titled Aurora has installed itself into my computer. The delusively romantic name is actually some porn network. How novel. Ecks.

Caught the G.E.M performance in school on Friday night 'cos Ede was performing. Oh boy, I've never seen the quiet girl shake, shimmy and basically go wild! I could see the sheer exhiliration on her face as she danced though, and I am really happy for her. I am almost tempted to take up dance lessons, in spite of my two left feet. Haha.
It was good too, to see Fagan and Marc again. Marco had a quarter of his thumb sliced off by a commercial potato peeler. Poor guy.

Finally made a trip down to My Secret Garden, the much talked-about eatery recently. Jason and I bumped into my brother downstairs, so I bribed him into driving us there. Circled the place for quite some time before noticing the pretty obscure cafe.

Nice ambience. Lotsa brick red walls and warm candlelight, with a soothing French cd playing in the background. Only thing I didn't like was the hard wooden chair I was sitting on.
So the three of us (my brother joined us) sat there with our desserts, the two men sharing some deep-fried platter, talking about the service and f&b industry in general.
Thanks Jazzy, for the directions to the place! :)

Strolled along the newly renovated Bugis Market, and I got myself a pair of burnt orange drawstrings at 12 bucks. Pretty good deal eh? Pity I can't bring myself to bargain.
My aunt just informed me that she couldn't rid my turquoise drawstrings of the dark chocolate stains. (Read previous post.) Dang.

I'm listening to the Corrinne May cd someone wonderful has just given me. Looking forward to the track Angel in Disguise. Heard her perform the song live at the Esplanade this new year, and it was the one which stood out most among her newer tracks. I sorta preferred her first album though. Perhaps because of the sweet memories attached. :)

Night world.
