The Aussie Diaries - Sydney Day 3

The Aussie Diaries - Sydney Day 3

Homemade pancakes in the parlour. These look better than they tasted - some weren't cooked through.

Hanging out with bitch by the REAL fireplace. I can't help it, Blue Mountains is like my winter dream come true - if only it snowed!

Part of Kurrara's estate. Kurarra is actually owned by this somewhat odd and slightly surly old guy, and I can't help but wonder if the lady helper who comes in for half the day has a sort of crush on him?

Art installation. Dog and cat.

Waiting for the train at Katoomba. We had almost an hour to kill, but we were mighty fine at entertaining ourselves, taking silly pictures.

Sleepless in Katoomba, starring Michelle Seah.

The Katoomba Monster - starring Michelle Seah.

A circle rainbow. Does it bring luck?

I think my jumping shots have improved considerably over the years.

A quick stopover in Leura to check out the candy store Kenrick talked about.

It may not look like much on the outside...

but man was the inside filled with candy, all sorts of candy! I can definitely see why my sugarholic friend praised the shop to the high heavens.

Whiling more time away while waiting for the train back to Sydney.

Byebye pretty Leura!

Dinner was with C's friends at Hurricane's Grill in Bondi, after we indulged in a spot of shopping of course! That's us, all bibbed out for our meal.

Bitch did a very poor job of finishing her part of dessert on our first night at Rockpool, but she redeemed herself very well at Hurricane's. The trick we've realised is to not let her have any beer!

The Aussie Diaries - Sydney Day 2

The Aussie Diaries - Sydney Day 2

It was yet another early start, this time for a two-hour train ride up to the Blue Mountains.

Katoomba, the biggest town in the Blue Mountains. It's like one of the towns from a Nora Roberts novel. Too pretty!

The gorgeous colours of the autumn foliage.

Kurrara Guesthouse - home for the night!

They've got a bear on each bed, which I love but bitch hates.

Lunch stop at The Parakeet Cafe, a new-agey type place where I imagine the local hippies would work.

That cup of chocolate may look harmless but it was the THICKEST hot chocolate we've ever had. In fact, it soon solidified into a pudding in the cold mountain air.

Walking off the hot chocolate at Echo Point...

And then stopping for a pick-me-up at the Blue Mountain Chocolate Company. I was all chocolated-out by then and unable to stomach more than a few stolen buttons from Ceci.

Wintry sunshine, nice.

Back in our room, bitch attempts to kill baby bear...

While I try my luck at silencing Ceci.

The town was dark and we weren't hungry, so we had a pizza and a bottle of local wine ("A Cheeky Little White", how cute is the name!) to go.
Pizza + wine + TV = my idea of a girls' night in.
