As lovers go.

As lovers go.
feeling: inspired
spinning: mig ayesa - baby i love your way

A friend was telling me today about the "break-up season". Apparently, January to June are the favored months for break-ups, while July to December are favored for hook-ups. I can't vouch for it entirely, but I do know that quite a few couples are going through rather rough patches of late.

Along with the good times, I am pretty sure most relationships would have had their fair share of the bad. Arguments... tears... tension. Caught in the storm of such dark clouds, one inevitably and usually wishes for an escape to a sunny place. But seriously, stay too long on a sundrenched isle and see if you will wish for the coolness of rain. Such is the insatiable contentment of humans. Next time you're caught in the storm, try wishing for an umbrella instead.

I guess what I am trying to say is that when arguments and conflicts arise, it is easy to be clouded by the ugliness and to lose track of what it is about that person that you fell in love with. Try looking past the obstacles and feel with your heart.

Now, I've had my fair share of shit and there were times when I was almost at a complete loss. What I've learnt though is that when one's vision clouds over, the heart feels what the eyes can't see. Each time I heard a love song and had the lyrics play in my head, uncertainties became just that bit more certain. And I wish the same for you. Now, scoot here and listen to Mig Ayesa's rendition of Baby I Love Your Way.

I know I've said it one too many times, but his performance gets to me everytime!
"Usually during a performance, I am busy thinking of what comments to give after. During yours however, all I could think of was how much I love my wife." Carmen Electra's hubby Dave, who is one of the judges on Rock Star INXS, says it all.

Shadows grow so long before my eyes
And they're moving across the page
Suddenly the day turns into night
Far away from the city
But don't hesitate
'Cos your love
Your love won't wait

Ooh baby I love your way
Everyday
I wanna tell you I love your way
Everyday
I wanna be with you night and day

I can see the sunset in your eyes
Brown and grey and blue besides
Clouds are stalking islands in the sun
Wish I could buy one out of season
But don't, don't hesitate
'Cos your love
Your love won't wait

Ooh baby I love your way
Everyday
I wanna tell you I love your way
I wanna be with you night and day

Baby I love your way

Love aside, I am now an official graduate of Diploma in Hospitality Management, Temasek Polytechnic! Pictures another day. The day's hype has got me all worn out. Night folks.

Strangers.

Strangers.
feeling: the achey lovin' feeling
spinning: michael bolton - to love somebody

To me, a successful chick flick is one that has me swooning for at least a week after. While it's been a long time since a chick flick last shot an arrow through my heart, I am still holding out for the one romantic flick that will once again leave me walking around in a love-drugged state.

She Is The Man was enjoyable and worth quite a few good laughs, but (now, even Ceci - the Queen of Romance agreed), it was a little too cheesy. What impacted me tonight however was not the movie, but the audience who caught the flick together with us. Each time Amanda Bynes pulled off a crazy stunt, we cheered and clapped and in that moment, we were more than just mere strangers sharing a cinema. And in that moment, Singapore just got a little smaller and cosier.

Got home with eight minutes to spare to catch North Shore. Guess what. The season finale's next Tuesday. And that's it! That's all the North Shore dosage I am gonna have. Damn. Tuesdays will never be the same again.

Well, the recent episodes have definitely topped my romance chart. Today's episode had Delta Goodrem and MJ (one of the leads) singing To Love Somebody and now I can't get that song out of my mind. I really really can't wait to see Jason and Nicole, Gabriel and Lisa, and MJ and Chris get back together. I bet you think I'm blabbering. Here, the lyrics of To Love Somebody to save your sanity.

There's a light
A certain kind of light
That never shone on me
I want my life to be
Lived with you, lived with you

There's a way
Everybody say
To do each and every little thing
But what does it bring
If I ain't got you, ain't got

You don't know what it's like
Baby, you don't know what it's like
To love somebody, to love somebody
The way I love you

In my brain
I see your face again
I know my frame of mind
You ain't got to be so blind
And I'm blind, so very blind

I'm a man
Can't you see what I am
I live and breathe for you
But what good does it do
If I ain't got you, ain't got you

You don't know what it's like
Baby, you don't know what it's like
To love somebody, to love somebody
The way I love you

Overdrive.

Overdrive.
feeling: drugged
spinning: jem - stay now

This song always makes me think of North Shore! The tangled webs of love are enough to keep me lusting for more each week. Seriously, let me fall in love in paradise like them and I don't think I will ever fall out of it. White sandy beaches, clear crystal waters, balmy sea breezes... come on, those are the essential ingredients for a cocktail of luuurve I say!

Bad news though. FOX is always cancelling all the shows I get hooked on. First it was Miss Match and now, according to an online forum, North Shore's gonna be axed pretty soon. This sucks. I think the Tuesday 10pm slot on Starworld is jinxed. Can't seem to find the North Shore series in vcd/dvd. Please, tag me if you know ANYTHING about it.

Got to watch Romy and Michele's High School Reunion earlier. Two words - totally bimbotic. Even an almost-bimbo like me found it hard to stomach! I wonder how Jason got through the movie without a complaint.

Alright, enough of blogging. I'm snuggling under the covers for an early night. Meeting Lanxi for a game of tennis tomorrow - gotta be up bright and early to wipe the layer of dust off my racket. It's been about two years I think? I predict a session of ball-picking, haha! Gonna then be zipping off to meet Ceci for a chick flick before barelling back home in time for North Shore later in the night. Busy, but it sure beats being a couch potato.

Coffee for the caffeined.

Coffee for the caffeined.
feeling: light-hearted
spinning: keri noble - talk to me

It feels like forever since I last did a proper textual posting! Now, if you hadn't gotten the gist of it, let me tell you - monsoon Phuket was NO sunny tropical holiday. At least I saved on my SPF50 sunblock...

A couple of weeks back, Kelly commented that she hasn't been reading about my usual coffee catch-ups that I blog about so frequently. Well, a month's worth of fashion buzz has finally died down and I've gotten my life back on track to my days of leisure, haha!

Caught up with Jem over lunch at Scotts on Friday. Laughed ALOT when he told me about one of his potential dates - The Singapore Bimbo. Picked up a couple of cds as well. My week ahead seems pretty packed, but I hope I'll be able to watch Romy and Michele's High School Reunion sometime soon. Lisa Kudrow (Phobe in F.R.I.E.N.D.S) is one of the leads... bet it'll be rib-tickling.

Caught 160 Characters with Ceci at the Esplanade last night. It was a short play but enjoyable nonetheless. Tried sharing the belly-clutching funny scenes with Jason but it just wasn't the same as watching it. And I totally enjoyed the post-play analysis over tea and an obscenely expensive strawberry dessert at The V Tea Room. Actually, we talked about everything - business plans, guys, people; except the play. Hahaha!

Less than 24 hours later, I got my ass down to town for an afternoon of shopping with... you got it, Ceci. It was supposed to be her spending her moola on office wear, but I got myself a Crumpler, a blusher brush and a striped tank as well. Tsk! I hate shopping with that girl!
Okay okay, you know I love you my bestest shopping buddy. We trawl the shops like nobody's business... which really is nobody's business, come to think of it. Haha!
I am infatuated with this totally awesome polka dotted tube top. (Scroll down for the picture.) It's fun, it's cute, it's casual yet dressy enough. However, even the smallest size was too loose. One tug and woohoohoo... Urghs.

Off to bed in abit. Gotta be up bright and early for piano tomorrow before meeting Lanxi for a swim. :) Life's good baby.
