I can't watch RA movies yet!

I'm can't watch RA movies yet!

Tuty came running up to me today, gave me a huge hug and said, "Happy 21st birthday darling!" Goodness no! I just turned 19, still a good two years away from 21! But it was a laugh. :)

I woke up this morning feeling like it was any other day. It's funny how my anticipation for birthdays wanes with each passing year. I wonder how I'll be like when I turn 40! Nevertheless, my Sentosa colleagues made this day extremely special. The A&E and lunch gang surprised me with a Coffeebean bear during lunch (I've named him Blankie), and just awhile ago, the gang together with my department came walking in with a chocolate fudge cake! I can't stop smiling really!

And surpassing the bear, the cake and the Creative Zen my department splurged on, what touched me most was something written on my birthday card from the Comms team - "You're our best intern ever!" :) I'm all smiles.

I've got a family who loves me, a boyfriend whose heart I know is with me though he's away at camp, a bitchy best friend who remembers my birthday, a bunch of fun-loving colleagues, and a pal who told me he's saving Monday for me. Thanks you all, I am most blessed. :)

Are you happy now?

Are you happy now?

My heart stopped in my chest when I saw Jasmine's message. "Oh no. Darling bombing." I was at a dinner party with my colleagues over at my boss', and our post-dinner plan to chill out with champagne and chocolates on the couch gave way to watching BBC in shock.

Bali has had a place in my heart ever since my maiden trip in June 2002, several months before the first blasts. There was something about the sincerity of its people and the rustic charm of the island that drew me in, and I wept when the blasts shocked the world. I didn't understand why anyone would want to hurt the serenity of the paradise island.

I didn't shed a tear this time around. I am angry, and I am extremely indignant. What is the motive spurring the bombers to destroy the island again and again? What have they got to gain by once again hurting the island they had wrecked three years ago? Do they really have to go to such extent to make a point? And what exactly is their point? Have they made it their mission in life to cause mayhem and bring sorrow to mankind by robbing the lives of loved ones? They have no right.

I sure hope they are suicide bombers, for they do not deserve a place amongst the living.

Off the runway

Off the runway

The media preview is over, praise the lord. Despite re-painting my nails last night; waking up with butterflies in my tummy; taking extra care in blowing drying my hair and all that jazz because I'd be seeing one of the magazine editors today, I did not exchange a single word with her. Not a word. Zilch. Did exchange a smile though, haha. I was more comfortable sitting outside the room and chatting with Aisha instead. Don't ask me why, maybe I just didn't feel confident enough to let a conversation paint my future? Avoidance. Boy, am I the queen of avoiders!

P.s. Gowns were GORGEOUS.

Deja Vu

Check out my newly highlighted hair! I finally cut the procrastinating and went ahead with it. :) I dig the results - well worth the 30 minutes I spent in humiliation with that rubbery thing stuck over my face. I swear it was like a condom for the head or something, haha!

Just got off the phone with my bitch whom many of you refer to as "your bitch" and give me a blank stare when I say "Michelle". Yes dear readers, Michelle is the name of my bitchydoo, lol.

It's cool really, how we manage to keep in touch and stay so close despite having pursued different paths for the past 3 years. Add to that the fact that the both of us are terrible with keeping friendships - we suck. Two negatives make a plus then eh? :)

I can't believe I actually called the editor of the magazine I aspire to work at to ask if she'd be attending this media preview (with champagne lunch and GODIVA chocolates darlings) on Thursday. Unfortunately she wouldn't be, but you should have seen me while I was on the phone with her! I acted as if it was a job interview, but truth is, she probably didn't even catch my name. Haha!

Will be heading out to sea for some radio thingy at the Southern islands tomorrow. Darn, I make my job sound so glamorous don't I? It's not, trust me.

Wondering about the title? It involves a dream, Bali, and someone. Go figure.

Well-rested

Back to the blogging bandwagon. I mass-uploaded the pictures last night whilst waiting for the E-registering to come on. In case you're wondering, we opted for Bali. :)

It's been a restful weekend, despite dreams that leave me feeling like I haven't slept a wink. Last night's dream was pretty though - I dreamt that clouds actually fell from the sky, and I was at the beach feeling their fluffiness just before they melted into the sea.

Spent the afternoon hanging out by the pool with CH and Kenrick, and instead of sunning it up like we usually do, most of the 3.5 hours we were there were spent frolicking in the water. I almost got coerced into doing this crazy pool jumping stunt (it's quite tame actually but I'm afraid of heights) and as much as I want to blog an entry to boast that I did it, I didn't. Too bad.

Missed out on my week? Scroll down for a pictorial spread. Jessica Simpson's boots were made for walking. My pictures were taken for talking. Enjoy.
