MY old house along Jalan Pinang. (Yeah, I used to live at Arab St.) No one's bought it since we sold it eons ago 'cos it faces an undertaker.
Quite an artistic shot huh? Half-body courtesy of YH.
As promised, here's the neoprint from Wednesday. Trust me, these are the less spastic of the shots we took, lol.
Madhouse
It's been a busy day chock full of activities. It was a whole lot of admin from 8.30 in the morning till past 10. There was the whole elective and cds selection frenzy, as well as the rush to prepare and submit my OT claim form to HR.
Well, things didn't get any less hectic after the admin rush, for people whose emails I've been waiting for forever decided to email me at one shot, so it was a hell lot of following up to do. Then, there was the whole packing of Sentosa buses for the various medias. Hah! I can now say that I wrote Cheryl Fox a note. (Official, but still... lol.)
BH drove Adel, Marilyn and myself down to Pasir Panjang for a kway chap lunch. Pretty good I must say, and it felt nice to get out of the island for a change. Haha. Well, I'm taking a short breather before Aileen comes down for a newsletter meeting with me. It really is a MADHOUSE in here!
Anyway, last night was Interns' Night Out to Suntec with Adel, Boon How, Wee Heng, Yan Fen and Xiumin. We were stuck in BH's car for an hour for there was a terrible jam enroute to Suntec. By the time we plopped down at Kenny Rogers, we were FAMISHED. Lol. Went for a little shopping (what's new when you put me and Adel together) before settling down at Coffee Bean to continue our insane conversations. It was really really fun. :)
Has anyone seen Daniel Powter's "Bad Day" mtv? It's kinda romantic, like a English version of Turn Left, Turn Right, but less tacky I feel. Here are the lyrics:
Where is the moment when we need it the most
You kick up the leaves and the magic is lost
They tell me your blue sky's faded to grey
They tell me your passion's gone away
And I don't need no carrying on
Stand in the line just ahead of the law
You're faking a smile with the coffee you go
You tell me your life's been way off line
You're falling to pieces every time
And I don't need no carrying on
Cause you had a bad day
You're taking one down
You sing a sad song just to turn it around
You say you don't know
You tell me don't lie
You work at a smile and you go for a ride
You had a bad day
The camera don't lie
You're coming back down and you really don't mind
You had a bad day
You had a bad day
Well you need a blue sky holiday
The point is they laugh at what you say
And I don't need no carrying on
You had a bad day
You're taking one down
You sing a sad song just to turn it around
You say you don't know
You tell me don't lie
You work at a smile and you go for a ride
You had a bad day
The camera don't lie
You're coming back down and you really don't mind
You had a bad day
You had a bad day
Sometimes the system goes on the blink and the whole thing it turns out wrong
You might not make it back and you know that you could be well oh that strong
Well I'm not wrong
So where is the passion when you need it the most
Oh you and I
You kick up the leaves and the magic is lost
Cause you had a bad day
You're taking one down
You sing a sad song just to turn it around
You say you don't know
You tell me don't lie
You work at a smile and you go for a ride
You had a bad day
You've seen what you like
And how does it feel for one more time
You had a bad day
You had a bad day
You had a bad day
Alright, back to work. :)
I'll settle with these three for now. :)
Scowling 'cos he hates my laoya camera. Time for an overhaul, soon!
Finally a nice smile from him.
Today was a busy busy day at work. I didn't have to stop to find something to do at all. Well, it's expected, since the media launch is tomorrow. I'm pretty excited actually.. I get to see journalists. Hah. :)
Dined at Breeks at Harbour Front with Jason. He's developed shopaholic tendencies... 3 shirt purchases in a day!
Off to bed.
Today's one of the rare occasions when my camera works. This is a hilarious picture of Jason with a distorted mouth.
That's us in the garden. Just our faces though, lol.
Class 95 Slow Rock Weekend
I pushed myself a little too hard during my morning run today. I was breathing a little too hard when it ended, and I had to lie down on my couch for a minute when I got home to get my heart rate back to normal. Headed to CH's poolside for a chat in the sun after brunch, and I've got rosy cheeks now. A good deviation from the sun-deprived yellow I was turning for sure! How ironic - I'm sun-deprived working on an island. Haha.
Went Father's Day shopping with Jason (bumped into Sarah and spotted Constance Song), before heading to his granny's place for steamboat. Haven't been there in eons. There was tons of food as usual, and the tiny ones were just as mischievous. It's always a little overwhelming for me because I am not used to such large family gatherings outside of Chinese New Year, but it was heartwarming. They were all wishing him safety for his army enlistment. :)
I don't think I am as good a multi-tasker as women are made to be. Whilst juggling my bag, yakking to Jane on the phone and closing my door, I hacked off a tiny piece of my finger on the hinges. For a moment, I stared at the hole waiting for the blood to start oozing, and when it did, I screamed bloody murder. Haha!
Time to indulge in my pre-bedtime novel. Pretty exhausted actually. I was up till 3am last night writing a song, but I still can't compose a suitable melody to go along with the lyrics. Shall approach it with the same approach to love - Inspiration will find me. I shall not seek it. Haha!
Night world. Sunday awaits.
We decided to "park" in front of Club Islander, where a balloon sculpting workshop was going on.
Saw Xiaowei and Jason Teo who were both helping out at the event.
The front of Cat's itsy bitsy teeny weeny engine red flower bikini.
The front.
Pardon the constipated face.
I've kinda decided that my bikini's a cocktail of boho and retro.
That's us in the makeshift toilet! I can't quite decide if I am really chaota or if it is because I'm posing with Cat! All's good anyway, I like being tanned, and she loves being fair. Haha.
Pre-Rouge dinner. I was taking the picture, and Jane has yet to arrive.
Jason and I, radiating with pre-clubbing energy. Haha.
That's Jason and myself, un-clubbing couple of the year.
Girlfriends.
I decided not to post the one where she was draped all over me, haha.
The group of us having our post-Rouge supper at Cuppage S11. Lester's off buying his ramen, and Jason's the one taking the picture.
Thank God it's Friday!
I might possibly title each of the next 22 Friday blog entries with the same as today's.
The much anticipated end of the working week has finally rolled around. For the weekend, I'm looking forward to doing what I want to, as compared to what I need to (work, duh).
Caught Monster-in-Law with Jason in the night, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The movie; the company; the nachos; and the no-fret, you don't have to work tomorrow feeling.
Had a leisurely dinner after that Thai Express at the Esplanade, and we were so impressed by the outlet manager's service that we personally handed him a tip. We've never done that, trust me.
Work today was extremely fruitful and enjoyable.
Learnt heaps from Joyce - preparing and planning for a CIP/VIP/VVIP visit; how to select suitable photographs for different medias; as well as how to burn pictures onto a cd.
Also, Corrina had her assign me to do a welcome speech "by" the president of a certain association. I was so psyched by my first writing assignment, I finished it in less than an hour, way before the Tuesday deadline. Good for me that I wasn't plagued by writer's block, thus the smooth-flowing train of thoughts.
My next writing assignment would be an article on the newly opened IOS. Looks like I'd have to go on a visit to the attraction. Several of my fellow interns and colleagues have been singing its praises.
Pat told me quite a few stories and scandals from the past as well. Some were interesting, some plain weird -like a marriage proposal from a certain king to one of our staff. Haha.
I love my fellow interns in the same batch as me - Cat, Xiaowei, Ailing, Marilyn and Shikin. And it's always nice to see Karin, James and Ross around.
Friendly colleagues and enriching work. What's not to like? :) I'm crossing my fingers things will remain the same, haha.
Possibly beaching, shopping then Rouge-ing tomorrow.
I need a pair of dressy flats before I blister my feet to their grave.
Night world.
A retarded picture worth blogging. Lol.
Less than 10 hours before my 23 week internship at Sentosa starts.
Communications, here I come!
Island life, love it?
I pray I do.
Night world. :)
Wish I had an 8 megapixel digicam to capture the pearls of water.
The best waffle I've ever tasted in my 18.5 years of life.
Bee and Honey I think, from Out of the Pan.
